Happy 2 year anniversary!!

We've been married for 2 years today. WOW. a LOT has happened in two years...

we've renovated our entire house...

we got the most adorable cat EVER, Shamesrella!!!...

we spent 2 wonderful summers in a Myrtle beach motel room...

we went through some soul-searching and wondering why we don't have more friends in clinton...and realized there are about 2 other couples our own age here... ;)

we've ministered together on PC's campus and have talked through things we thought we never would...

we found out we were having a baby and were COMPLETELY SHOCKED...

we found out it was a GIRL and i was blown away with surprise...

we've prayed TONS of prayers together...and seen God be faithful in so many ways...

and we've fallen more and more in love with each other every day.

I am so thankful for Jake. it's so funny how God works...

we went from that summer in 2006 where we met at the Aquarius Motel in Myrtle Beach and I had just become a Christian...

to that fall when we started instant messaging eachother every week...to every other week...to every other day...to every day...to 3 hours a day...

which led to Jake taking me, an insecure, abused, new believer on 2 nerve racking dates...

to our first "real phone conversation" when jake told me he wanted to date me and ONLY me...

to that summer i spent in south africa while he was in Myrtle leading a room and doing accounting and cutting fruit at Kroger for 8 + hours a day (and i was agonizing over whether or not he liked me..)

to that fall when we had a BIG conversation about the future....

to that spring when he told me he was going to work for Campus Outreach...

to that night in may when he "accidentally" told me he loved me at 3 a.m. on the phone, and i made him repeat it 3 times before i said it back...

to that summer i was a room leader and we texted eachother all day and all night, and fell SO. IN. LOVE...

to that fall, when i worked a miserable job while he started his first year on staff, bought a house and a ring...

and asked my dad if he could marry his princess.

my reply? WHEN? when can we get married?!

i planned the wedding in a few months, and the rest is history!!!

I love you sooo much my Jakey! You are the best husband in the world and i can't wait to spend forever with you MY man!

The sweetest man in the WORLD.

Happy birthday to my baby, Jake!! His 25th birthday is today, AND we didn't do much at all but lay around and hang out all day! I LOVE birthdays! This year, i decided that i wanted to do something adventurous with jake so i planned to go on a canoe trip down the french broad river in north carolina. The only problem was, they didn't have one today and i need to call and make sure i can be in a canoe with a 5 month pregnant belly. I REALLY hope so because i love to do adventurous things with Jake :) We'll see!!

Jake's birthday was made complete by meeting up with our parents tonight to reveal the gender of our baby to them at dinner!!! We planned a fun surprise to tell them, and believe me, they were SHOCKED!! I'll put the pictures up once i've had a chance to call a few more close friends and tell them ;)!

In honor of Jakey's bday, i thought i would post a few pictures of us and things i love about him!!!

1. his sense of humor- i love the way he makes me laugh and jokes with me at home all the time and thinks i'm really funny and cute!! we are always laughing at home and playing around with eachother!

2. His personality!! One of the first things that attracted me to him is his outgoing, fun way of relating to other people!! He is soo much like me, but so different than me in so many ways, and he LOVES meeting people!! Last year on our anniversary trip he had so much fun meeting the other people staying at our bed and breakfast and we even tried to share the gospel with them!

3. He is adventurous! He's gotten me to go snorkeling, on a zipline, on a plane to Honduras...can't wait to see how our little one will be like their daddy!!

He is the best husband ever, and soo devoted to me!! i'm so glad this is my 5th time celebrating his birthday with him!!

Struggling.

What do you do when you try to trust God with a certain situation but find it SOO difficult?

When you have prayed for 2 years for something and feel like God is saying YES, only to have you wait and wait and then wait some more?

I am just really struggling today with God's sovereign plan. I KNOW His plans are better than mine and greater and His timing is perfect. But as a deeply emotional woman, it doesn't FEEL like it.

No, i am not talking about anything to do with my pregnancy....but something else very close and dear to my heart. I know God is testing my patience, and calling me to rely on Him and His power and to pray without ceasing with FAITH.

..."the prayer of a righteous man is POWERFUL and EFFECTIVE..."

Happy 4 months!!

Here is my 16 week pregnancy pic!! I am finally starting to get a little bump haha!! Here are some things I am LOVING right now as a pregnant lady!!

-Lindy's Homemade Italian Icee's...i eat a cherry one before bed EVERY night!! Jake just laughs because i used to love chocolate but not right now!

-strawberries...i am eating 1 or 2 cartons a week! This is weird for me because i HATE fruit!

-my skinny jeans...sadly, i only have about 5 pairs of pants that still fit me!!! :(

-So Long Insecurity, a book i'm reading by Beth Moore! I got it as a gift for my birthday, and i think ALL women should read it...for real!

-laying out in the sun!!! well, this one's not unique to me being pregnant, i always love a good suntan!!!!
