Wow!! I have taken a little (a long) time off from blogging!!! There has been so much going on that I don't know where to begin! We had a wonderful Christmas and got to visit both of our families, and then spend a week with them at our National Conference. When students left for break, we got some down time to rest and relax before being on the road for 12 days! We went to my parents house first, which was a lot of fun except for the fact that Lindsay (twin sis) and her fiance left on Christmas eve, so it felt a little sad to me :(. Maggie got lots of hugs and kisses from Grandmommy and Grandaddy and she did so good on the road, EVEN THOuGh (of course) we had to take her to the emergency room to get amoxicillin because she got an ear ache :(. On Christmas night we went to the McCouns and opened presents, and stayed there until we went to Chattanooga for the conference. One of the highlights of my Christmas was my gifts-Jake got me some AWESOME prints from etsy that ill post a picture of later, Jake's fam got me a COTTON CANDY PINK kitchenaid mixer, and Linz and Daniel got us a gift card to the Marshall House in Savannah!!!! I was so so so excited because i had been telling Jake since i had Maggie that the only thing i want for Christmas is a long weekend away to just hang out and not have to wake up in the middle of the night :). Conference was the best one ever for our family, having both sets of grandparents there really made it fun!! And we were so glad they could come hear John Piper and Matt Chandler and all the other great speakers. My favorite time of conference was the wive's time-we heard from a staff wife who had been on staff for 26 years and has 4 kids. What was so encouraging to me was to see how discipling your children is such a worthy calling and one that I want to take seriously starting NOW-even though Maggie can't talk with me or learn scripture, how i can be doing these things now and training MYSELF so that i am a good role model for her...more on that later i am reading a few good books on Biblical womanhood right now that are definitely challenging my perspective of myself and revealing A LOT of sin in the way i view my life...here are some pictures of Maggie and us at Christmas and me making banana bread with my new mixer. i can't wait til Mags can make pink cupcakes with me in a few years! :) :)

  1. Girl, your daughter is more beautiful in every picture!! I know it's been forever and we're both busy but I would LOVE to talk to you about how motherhood and the rest of life are going. I miss you and I'm so grateful for who you are! :) Really. Miss you!
